"Opening our home and becoming a billet family is something we will never regret. Having teenage boys that join your house as strangers but quickly become like one of your own children is an amazing experience. They and their families become an extended part of your family very quickly.

Our billets have helped our children grow in the great game of hockey while setting an example on how to grow into respectful, mature young adults. With many of them finishing or recently graduating high school themselves, they're also very helpful with those hard math problems when it's homework time.

It's the best 7 months out of the year and full of great memories we will cherish for a lifetime"

"This year I had a phenomenal experience in regards with my billets. I couldn't have asked for a better fit. I was taken in and treated like one of the family. This was my first year billeting and every fear was put to rest when I moved in. A worry of not feeling at home was not the case as I was welcomed with sincerity. I was well fed and had a very nice home to live in over the season. One thing that my billets provided was a respect for, not treating me as a child and allowing myself freedom. Overall I couldn't have asked for a better situation and am forever grateful to the Charlotte Rush and the billet coordinator for making this happen. "

"I can speak first hand on how much of an impact billeting Rush players last year was for my family. The players that came into my house immediately became part of our family. They had goals, dreams, and aspirations of where they wanted to get to in hockey and life. Whenever my son would go out on the ice, one of his billet brothers would come with him. They would play board games, mini sticks, roller hockey, etc every day with my kids. My family would come to games and cheer on the Rush players. They became big brothers that were tremendous role models for my sons. My sons talk about their big brother Rush players every day. "
