TEN YEAR NHL VETERAN JS AUBIN NAMED CHARLOTTE RUSH GOALTENDING COACH
CHARLOTTE, NC: The Charlotte Rush are proud to announce JS Aubin as the teams new goaltending coach. JS who spent ten seasons in the NHL and six seasons playing in Europe’s top professional leagues takes over for Brian Haaland who served in the same position since the 2015 season.
“This is a very exciting day for our program with the addition of JS. I would first like to thank Brian for all he did for our program over the years. Brian provided instruction once a week and spent countless hours on the phone developing and mentoring our goaltenders on and off the ice. We were able to capture three National Championships with him on our staff and unfortunately between work and his boys getting older and involved in hockey there is just not enough hours in the week. Coach Haaland was a very special part of our program and will always be apart of our Rush family.” -GM Ryan Cruthers
JS brings a wealth of knowledge not only from his playing career, but he has also been instrumental in developing high end goaltenders in Pittsburgh, PA since retiring. Coach Aubin is no stranger to Charlotte as he has worked with the Rush staff the last two summers during the New York Hockey Development Camps.
“I have had the privilege to work with JS in different capacities over the last three years, one in Pittsburgh and the last two in Charlotte. He fits into our staff seamlessly and his ability to relate to what our players are going through helps tremendously. Our goaltenders will have on ice instruction, video review as well as a mentor they can speak with at all times. Championships are won from the crease out and having JS on our staff will strengthen our chances of continued Championships.” – GM Ryan Cruthers
The Charlotte Rush are home this weekend as they take on the Potomac Patriots and look to maintain first place at both the Elite and Premier levels.
